In October 2006, Apple released two new iPod products:
Due to an unexpected design changes in these products, they were incompatible with the iSee 360i. Through a firmware update (version 1.0.106 or later), the iSee now supports these models.
Symptom:
“Connecting to iPod…” displays on the iSee splash screen at startup and goes no further.
This condition is only valid when:
There is no impact on any previous versions or models of iPods or iSee 360i’s.
This is the ONLY option available to update your iSee to work with the 5.5 Version units. The iSee will not work with a 60GB or larger iPod.
The user must have access to another supported iPod (any iPod released prior to October 2006).
A special firmware file (iSeeDevUpdate.elf) is available from the link below.
To perform this simple firmware update, please do the following:
1. Download the file from the link below.
Click here to Download the iSeeDevUpdate.elf file to update your iSee i360i unit.
2. Choose Save to Disk. We recommend saving the file to your desktop so it can be easily found.
3. After the file downloads, plug in your "older" iPod to your computer.
4. Double click on My Computer.
5. Double click on the Removable Disk drive which is your iPod drive.
6. Copy the iSeeDevUpdate.elf file to root folder on the “old” iPod
7. Disconnect your "older" iPod and connect it to the iSee unit.
8. This will update the internal iSee firmware.
Once completed, the user simply inserts this older iPod into the iSee 360i to flash the newer firmware. Once the firmware has been updated, this special firmware file will be automatically removed from the iPod.
